About the Architect

Hillary Hemstreet McClain, AIA

Architecture has always been about more than designing beautiful buildings for me, it’s about creating homes and spaces that enrich the lives of the people who live in them. With 15 years of experience and 10 years leading my own practice, I have built my business specializing in luxury custom homes, thoughtful additions, and historic preservation projects throughout South Florida. In 2024, I was honored to receive the AIA Palm Beach Honor Award for Design Excellence in Historic Preservation, a recognition that reflects my passion for preserving the architectural character of our community.

As a Palm Beach County native whose family has called this area home since the 1950s, I have a deep connection to the neighborhoods and architecture that make our community so special. Growing up admiring the homes of Palm Beach and El Cid inspired a lifelong appreciation for timeless design. While my work is rooted in the clean lines of modern architecture, it is also shaped by the classical architecture I studied while traveling in Europe and Asia.

I earned a Master of Architecture degree from the University of Florida and spent the early years of my career working for an international architecture firm before returning home to build my own architecture practice. My practice focuses on residential projects, designing homes that reflect each client’s unique story while contributing to the lasting beauty of the community I love.

I am also the co-owner of McClain Construction Group, alongside my husband, who is the company’s general contractor. By offering a design-build approach, we guide clients from the earliest design concepts through construction, creating a collaborative process that helps ensure the original vision is thoughtfully brought to life.
